Comanche Childcare Initiative
The Comanche EDC is working with key stakeholders in the community to bring more quality, affordable childcare options to our area. This will be at least a two year project as we search for the best resources to provide the services, build or renovate a suitable property, and then staff and train the employees.
The Comanche Childcare Initiative is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to serve on its founding Board of Directors as we work to expand access to safe, affordable, and high-quality childcare for families across Comanche County.

The Comanche Childcare Initiative conducted a community survey in October of 2025 to understand the need and nature of additional childcare options. The main purpose of the survey was to help us determine the size of the facility that we hope to build/renovate, keeping in line with regulatory requirements of square footage per child. The results of the survey can be seen in the documents attached to this webpage.
Are you interested in opening your own licensed Daycare Center? With the help of the Texas Workforce Commission you can get there! The TWC provides a wealth of assistance, training and resources to help you get started. The Comanche Economic Development Corporation is looking for interested individuals that would like to participate in a community seminar on this topic. Please contact us for more information.
